2000 grand cherokee perform service on evic

I am having difficulty resetting the 'Perform Service" message on my EVIC in my 2000 grand Cherokee Laredo. I try to go through the menu and reset, but none of the buttons are seeming to work...I regularly change my oil (at home, not at a dealership or auto shop), but my step dad is a mechanic and has scanned my jeep but there's nothing wrong with it. Is it possible the buttons just aren't reading? Any suggestions?

Re: 2000 grand cherokee perform service on evic

If you canīt scroll through the menu, then or the EVIC is froozen, or the buttons simply donīt work anymore. Already tried to reset by removing the power? Fuses #8 and #22 supply the power to the EVIC. If that doesnīt help, you could try and open the EVIC up and clean well the switches.
