2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Stalling

Hi everyone. I have a 2000 Jeep GC limited 4.7 that was manufactured in 7/99 so I don't know if it is a 1999 or 2000. Just recently it started stalling while driving down the road with no warning or hicups. the check gages light comes on and the gages go down. After pulling to the side of the road for a few while trying to restart the gages wont move and the vehicle will turn over but no start. I tried turning the key on repeatedly and the gages will finally register and it will start back up. I did try to do the diagnostic thing by turning the key forward 3 times and it says done. HELP! Someone told me it was a bad ground so I grounded the motor and chassie to battery. Same problem. I hear that the crank sensor and the cam sensor and possibly this or that but after reading some post seems like no one has really found a solution. Any solid ideas?

Re: 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Stalling

You need a new PCM.

The PCM is internally loosing power to a circuit board, once the power is lost the jeep dies and the PCM memory is wiped clean (like disconnecting the battery). That is why you don't have codes. Its actually pretty common with the JTEC engine controllers.
