2002 Grand cherokee 4.7 Fuel level gage stuck

Filled tank at about 1/8 tank level now fuel gage is reading Full and not changing. Any ideas, tricks or tips would be very much appreciated.

It's a variable resistor that controls it...drop the tank remove the pump and replace.

Dagnabit, Those are not the words I wanted to hear, I just got this thing about 2 months ago and it is starting to dollar me to death. Have the
p-0420 code on it about a week ago now this. Had it in the stealership to replace Tranny/Transfer case seals. Are all these Jeeps this bad with, maintenance issues?

It's 12 years old...seals fail, electronics do also. Dropping the tank isn't that bad and I am pretty sure the resistor can be replaced without replacing the fuel pump.
