2005 Cherokee Clunking Sound
Having a problem figuring out what is causing a clunking sound in the front passenger side of my 05 Cherokee Limited. It is all wheel drive and has the HEMI. It only clunks when I turn the wheel all the way to lock. Mostly when backing out of my driveway or a parking space. I have removed the sway bar to eliminate that common problem. The ball joints using a pry bar appear to be ok along with the front axle bushings. If I have my wife move the steering wheel engine off I hear a noise in the rack if I'm under the car, is this normal? The noise I'm complaining about doesn't happen all the time but when it does I have people down the street looking what the ---- was that. Sounds like metal to metal. Any help would be appreciated.
