2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo Heater Fan Stopped Working

Hello

I have heat, but the fan stopped working. We changed all the fuses, put in a new heater blower motor and resistor, disconnected the battery and still nothing. I live in Upstate NY, in the North Country and it is getting mighty cold. Help please!!

Tested motor and that tested good, no climate control, no wire damage that we could see, we were able to just plug the motor and resistor in.

Thank you!

Re: 2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo Heater Fan Stopped Working

There should be a blower motor relay in the PDC under the hood. Just swap it with a same relay from the PDC just for trouble shooting. If it works, then you will need to buy a new relay.
Also the run relay on the junction block is involved in the blower motor relay circuit, but then other systems would be inop as well.
In principle fuse #1 in the PDC and #10 on the junction block are involved. If all this is ok, then the problem can be with the control head.

We did replace the PDC fuses, but will check all fuses again. Thanks.

Keep the ideas coming!!

Re: 2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo Heater Fan Stopped Working

Thanks for your response!! It is working!!

When the fan stopped working, the first thing we did was change out all of the fuses, then the blower motor and then the resistor. When rechecking the fuses, one must have been loose, fan started working.

Replacing the blower motor and resistor is all good, old fan was not working, a mouse found its way in last spring and the fan always made a lot of noise since then. Replacing the resistor is good to; the Jeep has 293,000 miles on it.

Happy and warm in Upstate NY!!
