2007 Wk 4.7 Stalled

Like the title says, last weekend while driving my check engine light came on and bogged down really bad. Couldn't go above 30mph, then about 10 seconds later the whole thing cut off. I was able to pull over and restart it. I checked the codes with my superchips, I don't remember the exact code but it had something to do with possible vacuum leak, well i took it to a shop and they said that where the kn cai meets up with the throttle body was loose. They retightend it and i should be fine. Here's the thing though, for the last 9 months or so it has idled pretty rough when in park and at a stop light. It surges from just below 500rpms all the way to 1100 rpms. It's still doing it, any ideas as to what this could be? I've read about some issues with the egr valve going bad, has anyone replace theirs on a 4.7? Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Matt

Re: 2007 Wk 4.7 Stalled

I suppose it could be, but I put the intake on about 5 months ago, it was doing it before.

---------- Post added at 05:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:42 PM ----------

It was actually throwing 5 codes after it stalled out, they were the following: p2074, c101c, b1668, u0184, u0415. The last 4 were kind of weird, i think one was about losing communication with the radio, another one was a right front wheel speed sensor. I forget the other two. I thought maybe the other 4 came up because of it cutting out while driving, the shop said that's not possible.

Re: 2007 Wk 4.7 Stalled

after doing some more research on here it seems like alot of the symptoms match the tps failing. I think i might give that a try.

Yep, that was my initial though, start there and let us know how that goes, VERY common on the 4.7l

Re: 2007 Wk 4.7 Stalled

I hope that's it, i actually was tooling around on it yesterday and thought I'd take a look at it to see if it was something that i could clean and ended up stripping the screw on the firewall side that holds it in. I'm hoping I can take the throttle body off and use a pair of channel locks on it.

Re: 2007 Wk 4.7 Stalled

Yeah that should work, and worst case senario you could take a dremel and just cut the head of the bolt off... without the tension on the bolt from the clamping pressure it would be even easier to remove. Mopar sensors come with new bolts (cannot speak for aftermarket).

Re: 2007 Wk 4.7 Stalled

I replaced my TPS twice, I would only go with Mopar as Jeeps are real PITA with some aftermarket sensors.
