On all of my key ignition vehicles I'd always turn the switch to run and wait until the fuel pump stopped whining, which told me the fuel system was pressurized. Then I started the vehicle. If I didn't do this then I experienced an identical condition to what the OP posted.
My Honda Accord is very touchy this way, my old 02 GC was slightly less so.
I am reading some people complaining about same issue and saying the TIPM was the problem. I am not sure. But it seems like that the ling crank with no start aways happens after driving the vehicle a bit. Stopping for a bit and then starting the vehicle again. What p... me off is that this is a brand new car and they cannot figure out what is wrong. Anyways... Taking the car to the dealer on Monday.
