97 gc zj 5.2 blowing fuel pump relay fuse

Hey Everybody, I am having problems with my 97 GC ZJ and need help. I have replaced the FUEL PUMP, MAP SENSOR, CRANK SENSOR, IAC VALVE, CAM SENSOR, and the problem is that when I turn the key to start my Jeep the fuel pump relay fuse blows, I have looked for a short to ground everywhere and then I looked again and I can not find a short anywhere and I am extremely frustrated and think it is something easy that I am just missing and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention a few things, with the key in the ignition but not turned to acc or anything the fuel pump will run continuously or until you try to crank it over and then the fuse blows, or I found that if I remove the ASD RELAY the fuse will not blow, just trying to find what circuit the problem is in, thanks again for any help.

Re: 97 gc zj 5.2 blowing fuel pump relay fuse

Welcome to the garage.
I donīt have a schematic manual for your jeep, but if the wiring looks like on the WJ, the same fuel pump fuse also feeds the ASD relay. Since pulling the ASD relay solves the problem, i would put an other relay in the ASD relay position. Just use one same relay in the box, maybe horn relay? I would expect a short internally to the ASD relay.
Strange that the fuel pump runs continuously with the ignition in OFF. The PCM will supply the ground for the fuel pump relay, so or the relay contact is welded closed, or the PCM is making a continuous ground for the pump relay.
