Abs and brake light

Newbie here!
This is an 02 plate crd limited edition swb. by the way.

Taken on a repair to sort an ABS problem, as the rear diff has a sensor read out of .623 ohms , I guess its ok .
I replaced the front hub (s/h) with warranty c/w abs sensor , and replaced the ABS MODULE AS THE LIGHT IS ON THE DASH ., (SORRY CAPS), and its said they are troublesome, the other light is the brake symbol. The result nothing still no abs , is there anything like clearing previous faults and with what diagnostic apart from dealers especially given the age of vehicle there charges are well out of it.
IM stuck can anyone help please.

Re: Abs and brake light

Welcome to the garage.
Sorry, but which type of jeep do you have?
In general when ABS and red brake light are on at the same time, there is a problem with the EBD (electronic brake distribution) system.

Re: Abs and brake light

Thanks for replying.

Ok , sorry I mentioned it at the beginning , its a CHEROKEE CRD Shortwheel base 2002 diesel.
Anything further with the EBD system you can tell me please.

If its worth mentioning , after I fitted the two replacement units as I said the lights remained , then I remembered the sensor on the diff was disconnected. I replaced this and checked the dash with ignition on and both lights went off and stayed off once the handbrake was released as well. Went for a short distance driving and the lights came on again!
I haven't been able replicate that situation since.

Re: Abs and brake light

Don't know the cherokee. What is that sensor for on the diff?
You should take it to any shop with a scanner to get the ABS fault code read out. Some do this for free.

Re: Abs and brake light

It's a KJ Cherokee , the sensor is a speed sensor on the diff.
