All Warning Lights Come on

We have a 2007 Grand Cherokee that we picked up used.

It has been working great for the past 8 weeks.

Twice in the past week all the warning lights came on, the gauges went up and down, the engine did not loose any power. And the Check engine light stayed on.

The battery terminal had a lot of corrosion on them ( this has been cleaned)

Any ideas

Maddog

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

ignition switch....not the key part wahts behind it.......OR

the headlight stalk.

ig sw is about 45 at the stealer. the stalk is a bit more depending on fogs or not.

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

Since the engine light turned on what are the codes?

If it is still running fine I wouldn't really worry about it as mine has done that once also. I attribute it to the CAN BUS system having a hiccup or something.

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

Not sure what the engine code was as the first thing I did was disconnect the battery terminals and clean them. When I reconnected check engine light went out.

I am going to have the battery load tested today

Didn't even think about the ign switch

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

This is the wrong section; a 2007 is NOT a WK2 model (some folks might think there's an issue with a new vehicle, I'm not picking on you, I'm just clarifying). You might PM a mod to move it to the right spot.

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

Hav not resolved the problem yet.

I took the battery to the parts store.

Barttery passes, no problems found

I called the stealership and am brining it in on Monday

I have an OBD tool for the weekend just in case

Any advise would be appreciated

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

I had this on my 06 4.7 and it turned out to be the corrosion on the battery.....never had it again

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

Well the warning lights still come on

They all come on and then all slowly turn off

Yesterday it happend three times, the check engine light does not stay on.

The battery posts and terminal are clean for sure.
The Dodge Stealership ( I purchased used at the Dodge dealership with a 3 year fact. warranty) did not have a problem with it so now I'm thinking about going to a Jeep Stealership to see what they can find.

This is my 6th Jeep and I have never had any real problem with em

Aggggggg........

Re: All Warning Lights Come on

Libertys do this when there's either battery corrosion or the battery is about to die.

Happened to my sister's Liberty. It would also ding randomly.

I told her that Libertys do weird things when the batteries are about to die.

Battery replaced.

Hasn't happened since. Possibly the same issue here.
