Antenna = ARGH

Sooo.. yes I know I haven't been very active lately (been busy and haven't had internet @ my apartment so I only have it when I'm at my parent's house).

So today I notice my antenna was a little "wobbly"... ended up messing with it, and it completely came out... it looks like it has somehow broken off where it screws in (maybe about 3/4 of the way down?)... before realizing this, I'd bought one of the 'stubbier' black ones to replace it with, but NONE of the adapters that came with the damn thing would fit... I'm not sure if it's just lame, or it's not fitting because maybe there's a piece of the old antenna end stuck inside the opening. I can't really tell since it's dark out.. but I guess my question is, what should I do? As of right now, I cannot get the stubby one to fit, and I cannot put the old one back on since the tip is broken clean off... is it okay to just leave the open hole sitting there? I don't even use the radio anyway... i use SAT and my iPod... but it still looks pretty weird...

Re: Antenna = ARGH

If your not going to put anything back I would atleast seal the hole with some silicone or something to keep water out.

Well, I kind of want to install the short black one on there since I already have it... how can I go about getting the piece out of there that broke off? I'm assuming that's a part of why I can't put the new one on... (that, AND apparently none of the pieces that came with it work...lame!)

Re: Antenna = ARGH

The easiest way for something like that would probably be a left handed drill bit made for extracting broke screws like that. As it drills into the broken screw it bites in and actually screws the broken piece out.
