Brake lights

Have a problem with brake lights not working when head lights r on replace brake light switch back bulbs I don't know what the problem is please help

You have a 99-04 Grand Cherokee, isn´t it? This is a known problem on those jeeps. The problem is a bad contact between the socket tabs and the light assy board. Sometimes just bending the small tabs a bit out will work, otherwise you will have to bend the metal contact strips on the board a bit towards the socket.

No idea of the real reason, have thought about it as well, but its the way it works.
