Cranks will not start 1999 Cherokee

1999 jeep Cherokee not grand Cherokee 4.0 at/ac auto Tran 130.000 mile
The starter motor took a crap one day so I pulled it into our shop bought new starter now it cranks great but won't start. Right away I pulled out fuel pressure gauge was between10-15 psi we dropped the tank changed fuel pump and filter also fuel regulator. Now getting 45 psi but still no start. Sprayed start fluid into tb didn't start or I should say even attemt to. Next checked coil and wires for spark all good. Also these were replaced two months prior. Next bought ckp sensor. No start. Bought sync generator thing in the distributor, which I guess acts as cmp sensor on this engine. Still nothing. I'm almost ready to take to real garage! Any ideas plz. Also no codes were seen. Not mil before starter job either. Solice pro has good communication to. I did not do compression test. Would that tell me a bad timing chain? Maybe stretched skipped tooth?

Re: Cranks will not start 1999 Cherokee

Did it run before?
Did you disconnect the battery before doing the starter?
Have you checked all your fuses?
Have you checked to see if the injectors are firing?
Is the Crank position sensor plugged in?
Is the Cam sensor (Stator in distributor) timed correctly?
New Crank sensor is bad right out of the box?

Check here also.

Re: Cranks will not start 1999 Cherokee

Go over all your work again.
Try to crank it again, might take a good 6 tries to get the fuel up to the injectors, if you smell fuel stop. Your just flooding it at that point. Give it several minutes to clear.
If no go try it with the starting fluid directly into the throttle body.
If still no start I'd look into the spark timing using the link I posted above.
