dead gas pedal

hope I'm posting in the right place. I was driving along last week and my gas pedal went dead. Car still had power and my brakes worked. I coasted to a stop turned off car and started back up. Hasn't happened since. Dealer thinks I'm crazy. Anybody have this problem?

Only time something like that happened to me, my fuel pump died shortly after. I'm not saying that's definitely your issue, but something to look into.

Funny thing is a while ago I parked my car and heard air whizzing. Thought it was my tire. My husband and a mechanic friend said sounded like fuel pump. Took it to the dealer and of course they couldn't duplicate the problem. They never can.

Re: dead gas pedal

I had this problem a couple of days ago. Found I had accidentally shifted into gear 8. I shifted to N then to D and it was okay.
