Death Wobble

Hi everyone I have posted on here in forever but I was hoping someone could help me out.

So basically I've noticed that while driving (usually at higher speeds (50-65) but more recently at even low speed) my jeep will begin to rattle. It starts off with a little tremor, I can just barely feel something shaking almost like its in the road. It'll do this for a little then very quickly will turn to a very violent shaking, the entire car feels like its going to rattle off of the frame (it's more of a vibration then an actual side to side shake). Then it won't stop until I either come to a complete stop (it'll shake the entire time I'm stopping) or eventually if I drive long enough goes away after awhile.

So those are the symptoms.

I recently was doing some work on my fog lights and noticed that the sway bar was pretty rusty and kind of corroded. Could this be the reason for the shakes? I've posted on here before about this and got responses such as engine misfires, tires (which I don't think it is because they are pretty new and have been rotated on schedule), etc. the dealer looked at it awhile ago but couldn't replicate the problem.

Could the sway bar being corroded cause a death wobble? If not or so what else could be causing this and what repair prices might I be looking at (at least for parts, I know every dealer is different and New York State has high labor costs).

Thanks for any help at all

Also I'll attach a picture I took of the corrosion, it's on the passenger side where it connects at the say bar bushings ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1407882118.785344.jpg

Tie rods.
If the shaking happens while braking check your rotors.
The ZJ's were infamous for this issue.

If you're lucky it's something cheap like a wheel out of balance

Re: Death Wobble

Jack up one front tire off the ground, grab the tire at 9 & 3 o'clock then going back and forth feel for slop.Helpful if someone else is looking under front end looking at the steering linkage then grab wheel at 12 & 6 to ck ball joints.

Re: Death Wobble

I would also check the tie rod ends, the steering stabilizer and the track bar bushings. Also check (or let them check) the shocks.
