Your mechanic didn't build your car, he didn't break your car and he didn't buy your car. He is just the poor schmuck that gets to deal with customers with this attitude. There is no magic 8 ball... We know a lot and have a lot of resources to further help out BUT, at the end of the day we don't have X-ray vision we cannot see inside of an axle housing while we are driving down the freeway, a scan too doesn't tell us THE problem, but If you take your car to a shop that does diagnose this way, it's not all the ase certified techs or all the shops out there it's your shitty choice in a shop and blaming the whole industry for their shitty work. No one is perfect 100% of the time but some shops actually want to repair your car, right, the first time.. /rant

I did see the lol and I do know you just bumped an old post and are not the OP. ya just rubbed a bit of a sore spot.

Your the one flying expletives... Pot meet kettle. Furthermore, I am from a huge family but I am nearly certain your not my SIS. Your only reinforcing my opinion of your statement, god help the poor shop that gets to deal with you when you cannot do something yourself.

If you have an oz of knowledge about how mechanics are paid you would respect the charge slightly more. Work is slow at my current shop, today I will be standing around twiddling my thumbs not making a penny yet still stuck at work no less. My time is not free, my 15k in school loans and 20 grand in tools doesn't mean I am not worthy of a paycheck because it took me 15 minutes. You have your opinion of the industry and that's great, your not the only one with that opinion and you won't be the last fortunately with that attitude I will never have to meet you, as it be awkward meeting someone with their head shoved that far up their ass. Good day!

Re: Differential breather hose leaking diff fluid?

Also, the REPAIR is the easy part, the part that the shop suggested be replaced... its GETTING to the repair that isn't always so cut and dry. Your like a lady that walked into the shop yesterday, she said "is my check... check" "engine" I finished for her, "yeah my check engine light, is that bad". I said, "it sure can be but ill have ya talk to this guy and he will be able to better assist and let ya know what you would be looking at cost wise". She looked at me like I suspect you would, like I am an idiot and said, "I can pull the dipstick out and check my own oil, why would I pay you"... wow... Being able to replace parts and being able to REPAIR cars is 2 COMPLETELY separate things.

I know I will be dragged over the coals because you could absolutely care less, but a follow-up to my previous comment. I made a whopping 3.5 hours today when I was at work for 9 with lunch, my son is in child care for 1.5 hours a day, and I am away from my family for 9 hours, to stand around and not make money to pay our bills... but thanks for calling me a crook, I spend a lot of free time assisting people on the forums, people like you that CANNOT diagnose but can replace parts, and that makes you self sufficient because you have the intellect for free on the internet to go with your brawn to replace parts. This crook is living right at the poverty line and he is expected to diagnose or perform repairs on YOUR vehicle for free??? You said it best yourself F-U.
