Engine upgrade 4 cyl to 6 cyl 2000 wrangler

So my TJ is a 4 cylinder (manual tranny). I'm thinking about swapping it out for a 4.0 liter V6.

Is this just take out the old one and put in the new one? The V6 will work with the existing tranny and everything? Or what all do I need to replace?

Do the VIN numbers matter or anything?

The 4.0 is a straight 6.
If you have a 4 wheel specialty garage in your area, I'd suggest getting some advice from them on exactly what you'd need to deal with to make this swap work, as there isn't just one 4.0/6 version.

Selling it and buying a 4.0 version would be cheaper in the long run, but possibly not as much fun.
