Engine warning light

Hey all just had the engine light come on again twice in 4 weeks first time was for a radio update
This one was for what the technician called a massive vapor leak!
They have tested but can't find any issue and killed the warning and told me to just keep an eye on it
Anyone else had this issue?

Re: Engine warning light

On what model?

Here is my experience.

I've had mine come on twice since I bought my GC Diesel Overland in August. On startup it gets stuck in park and won't change gear. I turn engine off and restart. That sorted out gear change problem but engine light stays on.

I googled the issue and one suggestion, as crazy as it sounds, was linked to the cap less fuel nozzle, completely unrelated to the transmission issue I would have thought. But I thought what the heck, I'll try it.

Open the fuel door and stick your finger in the fuel nozzle hole a few times making sure the flappy nozzle doors (there seemed to be an outer and inner flap) get a good working. Then start the engine again. With me the engine light went out like it did for others mentioned in the posts I was reading. It was something to do with the sensors to do with the fuel nozzle. If there even are any.

The only pattern for me so far is that it happened about 3 days after I filled my tank. I will see if the problem occurs again after I next fill up.

Good luck.

Re: Engine warning light

Ha! It's a GC 2014
Took it back to Chrysler this afternoon and the other tech came out and told me pretty much the same thing, it's the capless filler and a evac sensor issue
It just seems to happen if you fill it from almost empty

Good to know though!
