Thanks Scott...that's up next. 2005JGC recommended having the codes pulled as well. I went 2 weeks without seeing it after replacing the OEM battery that finally died and I thought maybe it was just the low battery, but the stupid light resurfaced, so my next step is to take it in. Hopefully it is just a wheel speed sensor. From the looks of it, that's something I can replace myself once I know that's the problem.

Re: ESP Issue. Traction Control? Help?

the sensors are very fragile where they meet the hub and sometimes become brittle there. Check the two front sensors and you may be able to see if the are damaged, broken, cracked etc.

Re: ESP Issue. Traction Control? Help?

Will do. I'm guessing there are rear wheel speed sensors too?

There is a PCM update for "premature esp activation" Ultimately this is going to be similar to an abs event, so this may not be your issue. If its straight line issues I would lean towards a wheel speed sensor as already suggested... but as I said in your post in the WK section it could be alot of things.

Re: ESP Issue. Traction Control? Help?

FYI...got some numbers today.

WK front speed sensors (same left to right) are $33.60 per unit
WK rear speed sensors (same left to right) are $27.50 per unit

Diagnostic to tell me which one it is (if, in fact, it is a speed sensor) $99.00

Overpriced dealer diagnostics...priceless.

Hopefully I'll be able to get it in next week so they can plug it in for $100. Ugh.

Re: ESP Issue. Traction Control? Help?

Hello everyone ! It's my first time on this forum , and I joined because I have a problem with my Grand Cherokee WK 3.0 L 2006.
I saw on this thread a problem like mine:
When I drive my car around 40 km/h , my ESP/TCS Indicator Light blinks 2-3 times and the engine loses power . If I accelerate more, the engine is running ok, but only when I go over 40 km/h. Above this speed, no problems. When the ESP is partial off , or off, I have no problem , no matter the speed.
I went to the dealer and the car has no error code in the memory.
Can't imagine what this could be , and the dealer can't seem to fix.
Please help me ,
Thanks.
