Extended crank Grand Cherokee Laredo 2014

Guys, I need some advise about this.

I have a JGC Laredo 2014, Pentastar 6 cyl having a random extended crank, have been 4 times at the dealer but according to them can't recreate the issue so they can't change anything, this issue is really random, happens for 2-3 days and goes fine for weeks.

Any input on this? Please

guillegalano,

Are there any conditions present that you have noticed when the crank happens? Anything you can think of to help the dealership recreate it would be great!

Nope, it could be at any time, day or night, any kind of weather, cold or hot, different brand of gas, It's a CPO and even have MaxCare 7/100k.

I have proof of this, spent days recording every single time I'm going to start the car to show them the video but still they said can't do anything of doesn't happen while its there.

One thing, if you go from "off" to "run" first, never happens.

Ahhh, gotcha. Well, we are more than happy to document anything you'd like us to in a case, or escalate to a case manager if you have an appointment that they can check in on.

Re: Extended crank Grand Cherokee Laredo 2014

Sounds like the fuel relay in the TIPM.

They ran a recall for this in the earlier jeeps.

I believe it was called r9 recall.

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/rc_P5414.pdf

MY12 would crank crank crank crank then stop and you had to open the door shut the door and do exactly what you are doing push it from stop to run the push the brake to start.

That allows the fuel pump relay to prime. Also i bet you never have an issue with remote start either during the long crank days.

My dealer could never replicate it even tho I had video evidence of it.
