Re: Frikking 3.7

It will not test the MAP nor IAT, but will show the live data from the sensors. The MAP should show actual barometric pressure with engine off and will show a much lower value with engine running. The IAT should show outside temperature when the engine is cold.
For the O2 sensors, you will have to look at the upstream sensors, ie the 1-1 (bank 1, sensor 1) and 2-1 (bank 2, sensor 1). The voltage should jump up and down between 0.2-0.8V and the STFT (short term fuel trim) should read a single digit value (mostly +- 5). This is on a steady running engine, not during acceleration. If the STFT becomes double digit values ( so +-10 or more), it is a sign that something is not regulating well. Can be for example due to a faulty O2 sensor, low fuel pressure, vacuum leak or other problems.

Re: Frikking 3.7

So the iat is in the intake tube from airbox and the map is? I've been told and read that the 05 3.7 does not have a map sensor. Is this true?

Re: Frikking 3.7

Donīt know who told you that, but it should have a MAP sensor. Its mounted with two bolts to the forward side of the intake manifold.

Re: Frikking 3.7

If all else fails you might consider seeing if the valves are in speck or need adjustment. I didn't see how many miles on the '05. I bought my daughter a 2005 CRV and I replaced every fluid, plugs, belts , starter and it's finally running well but the valves are a little noisy. When I pulled these plugs at just under 142K miles just plug 4 slowed signs of having a rich fuel blend or a need to adjust the exist valves. That will have to wait until spring when I can get better access removing the head cover and replace the gasket. We are just about to go into the heavy Winter season in a Lakeshore snow belt. You try you best but salty, snowy I've filled Winters are hard on any vehicle and the CR-Vs are known for being quite durable. I can't see how she went so long on the same coolant, tranny and Rear diff fluids. The brake fluid and power steering were both almost black. One turkey baster and changed those fluids. I did brakes/rotors and tired as well. Luckily we got it for $1500 and know the previous owner. With some minor passenger body work and all the maintenance we are in just over $4500. Hopefully it will run for another 4-6 years. Jeeps are maintenance excessive but we know this going into things.

Best of luck there.
