Fuel Filter

Can anyone out there please tell me how far does the plastic tab have to be pushed back to release the fuel filter on a wj 2003 jeep grand cherokee? I have the two push tab lines removed, however I cant seem to remove the 3rd line. I would'nt think it would have to be flush with the opening of the larger diameter of the end of the line but I could be wrong It seems to move only about a 1/4 of an inch and I notice a click, however I still cant remove it.
