gas smell in passenger area
Occasionally, maybe twice/YR I get a strong fuel vapor smell in the passenger compartment (strong enough to give you an instant headache) It's usually when I'm driving in very hot weather, but it just happened at 62F degrees last week. Heater- ac blower was not on at the time. When I smell fuel, I check everywhere outside the cabin, under the hood, under the Jeep (fuel lines from tank to engine) but canít smell gas anywhere else but in the passenger cabin. Then I open the fuel filler cap. There seems to be an excessive amount of pressure in the gas tank. I replaced the evap canister purge valve and the vacuum check valve right "on" the intake manifold base but this smell still happens. Should I replace the charcoal canister next?
It's odd that I canít smell gas outside the cabin. I can't smell vapors near the firewall where they could be sucked into the fresh air heater/AC intake
I can't find any kinked or cracked lines and I can't imagine how a line could be clogged since its just gas vapors in the lines.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
Also, where can I find a vacuum line diagram for my 93 ZJ 5.2L
Thanks for your help
