Hello all

New here I have a 96 jeep grans cherokee laredo it was great till it began dying on its own after about 15 mins of running. I have changed the crank sensor, distributor, distributor cap, solenoid, the TPS, the cam sensor, tested the computer and reapired 3 wires in the engine harness, i replaced the fuel pump and filter double checked all the ground wires and after 2 months of me looking at it and another 4 months at a shop it is still doing the same thing.. but that 15 mins that it runs its like brand new. Does anyone have any ideas that would help me or has anyone come to this situation before?

Re: Hello all

Try using a blow dryer to heat up the main ecu relay and auto shutdown relay when its running to see if u can duplicate the symptom that way. If you can replace whatever relay u need. Or just replace both relays right off the bat since ur just throwing parts at it anyways. O and find a better shop!

Hello. I'm kinda curious if you were able to solve this issue. As you can see, my uncle is planning to buy a second hand jeep cherokee so we're kinda browsing for information about the vehicle. But having read this thread, it sounds kinda alarming that it would run for only 15 mins and it makes worried that there's a possibility it's a common problem of jeep cherokee. Now I'm wondering if you were able to fix it, does it happen again? I'll appreciate if you could update me about this.
