Quick update: my bro-in-law just picked his up and the dealer he took his to did the steering wheel tsb and adjusted the toe. He says it now drives significantly better on the highway. I'll be calling that dealer tomorrow and explain my situation and see what they say.
Sounds good,in my opinion 41 is too high now that the outside temps are 60-80 plus depending on where you live. The higher the outside temps the higher the PSI will rapidly rise inside your tires and your tpms should be alerting you to lower it immediately.
McB if your JGC is still exhibiting this behavior then another thing to try is going along together with a Jeep service person when they test drive it. Something definitely sounds incorrect. Keep us posted. As Challenger says, we are here for you.
I made an appointment with the other dealer, but they can't get me in until May 5th.
I made a highway trip yesterday purposely so I could really focus on the problem in hopes of being able to relay it to the dealer. The way I'd describe it is almost like the steering wheel has too much play in it...like it can move a few degrees without the wheels actually turning. The resultant feel at highway speeds is like I am constantly adjusting the steering wheel left and right to keep her straight. Due to what feels like slack in the steering wheel, I'm always overcorrecting because of the lack of response from the front wheels.
It is irritating to drive due to the constant left and right and unresponsiveness.
Any update? Picked up a limited with the build date of 6/15, and the steering wheel is off center, slightly off to the right. I swear every new cars I've ever bought needed an alignment and the steering wheel off centered. Guess I am very OCD about this.
I've had it in to two different dealers. The second didn't check anything, literally just drove it straight onto the alignment rack, aligned it, and gave it back. It was slightly off and helped a bit, but not much. As I've put more mileage on it the suspension has softened and that has helped more. Still hate how it feels but have relegated myself to that just being how it is.
