Help Please

I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited its V8 and 4wd , the problem is when the jeep is running the AC works great but when I turn the jeep off andntakenthe keys out the blower is still blowing air on high and won't shut off unless I pull the blower motor fuse out.. Someone said it was a relay and someone else said it was the resistor. The blower motor was replaced less than a year ago and I need to know what to replace or what to check ifnanyone can help me please let me know I have been withoutnairnforn3 weeks now because I am afraid to put the fuse back in afraid if it is the resistor it may catch fire .. Thanks in advanced

Tammy

Re: Help Please

Welcome to the garage Tammy.
Your problem is most probably the blower motor controller (if you have the automatic AC). There is further no relay in the blower motor circuit. To be sure its the controller, just pull fuse 7 (10A) on the junction block (under the steering wheelarea) and if the fan stays running in high, its the controller. If the fan shuts off, the problem is in the AC control panel. In case the blower motor controller has to be replaced, it sits just besides the blower motor in the HVAC housing at the passengers foot well.
If you have the manual AC, the problem is most probably in the control panel and not the resistor, since the resistor doesn't switch the fan off, but only controls the speed.
