Ignition problems

I was trying to jump off my jeep today and it would turn over but all of a sudden the starter would stay engaged even when I turn the key off. I had to disconnect the jumper cable for it to stop.
The starter was turning the engine
over. Luckily my battery was dead or
the starter would keep spinning.
What's wrong with it? Please help

Re: Ignition problems

Donīt know this jeep, but the starter solenoid must be sticking in the on position. Or the starter relay contacts are welded closed. I would first remove the starter relay and see if the starter stops working. If so, the relay must be changed. If it continues, then the solenoid on the starter is sticking. You could remove the starter and change the solenoid, or put a new starter on.
