Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

Sometimes the BCM can freeze up and do strange things. Just disconnect the negative battery terminal for some minutes and try again. A broken wire in the drivers door boot can cause problems with locks and windows, so have a look there as well.

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

The problem that such failure is not always active so if I hang up the SKIM does not require that I see something.

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

Did you disconnect the battery for some minutes and try again? The BCM itself is back to back mounted to the junction block, the fuse panel at the drivers foot well area. If you disconnect the PCM, will then the windows and door locks function ok? If they do, then the problem must be in the PCM.

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

Have a look in the drivers door boot for broken wire(s). This spot is well known for the wires to break after flexing many times when opening/closing the door.

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

Did you check the wires in the rubber boot from the body to the door?
What kind of control panel was added on the door?

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

The wires running from the body to the drivers door, pass through a rubber boot. These wires are known to break due to the flexing when opening/closing the door.
What is the extra control panel for which you mentioned?

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

Sorry my mistake.
This is not another control panel. This wire that connects to the control panel of the windows.
Attached previous post pictures that show the wire and where it connects.
Now I began to work right at the moment fault signal starts but only without the flash.
And another thing if I disconnect the battery for a whole night car works great couple of days and then again Course

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

I did see the red wires going out of the door control panel, but where are they going to? Seems that some kind of modification has been done, but for what purpose?
That disconnecting the battery solves the problem for a while, seems to have to do with the BCM which freezes up. This can be due to a problem with the BCM itself, or due to a wire which shorts out and makes the BCM to freeze. You didn´t answer my question if you checked the wire bundle which goes from the body to the door inside the rubber boot. This is a well known place where wires break and cause problems like you have.
By the way, is there any relation with the problem occuring after it has rained or after washing the jeep?
