Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

The problem began for me I got a puddle of water quickly.
And disappeared after the vehicle was some time in the sun and then back to the problem after the rain.
But then it happens to me even without rain

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

So in the rubber door boot all wires are ok? Where does the red wire go to which is soldered on the drivers door module printed circuit board?
So the problem can still be water in a connector. I would check connector C200 up in the passengers foot well area on the bulkhead. It happened several times already that water ingress overthere caused problems. You can see the connector on attached page in the right hand lower corner. Disconnect the battery before messing with this connector. See if there is any moisture or corrosion (green color) on the pins and dry it out with a hair dryer or alike. If you have di-electric grease, then you can use it one the pins before assembly.

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee with problems

I just found the C106 connector in the 2000 manual, it just sits above the C200 connector. Worth a try and check there as well for moisture and/or corrosion. I also saw that besides PCM, TCM and SKIM, also the Compact disc changer (if installed) and passengers door module are fixed connected to the PCI bus. So disconnect one at a time when the problem is there and check if the SKIM light goes out.
If all of the above does not give any result, im afraid that the problem is the PCM or SKIM.
