Jeep liberty air conditioning problem

I am having aproblem with my 2004 jeep liberty air conditioning. It was blowing only hot air when turned on. We immediatley thought blend door actuator and tore the dash out to change it. Upon checking it, we found that it seems as no elctric is oing to the actuator when we turn the air on. We checked the panel switch for operating the ac and found power going in but none seems to be coming out. We then tried another switch and the same thing is happening.

Are we missing something like a relay, pressure switch which must be activated prior to it sending voltage to teh acuator... Really kind of stumped right now?

Any help is appreciated

Dave

Re: Jeep liberty air conditioning problem

Understood, Dave.

Pick the sub-forum that best fits the issue you're posting about so that anybody able to help you won't have to split their answers between two threads in two different areas.

If you look over on the right side you'll see a list of recent threads. Everyone will see your thread regardless of what sub-forum you posted in or which one they happen to be in.

Hope that helps and good luck with solving your AC problem.

the only thing I can think of right now between the a/c switch and the a/c compressor is the relay for it. try to swap the relay for a known good one

Re: Jeep liberty air conditioning problem

Not familiar with the Liberty. If there is power in, but no power out, i would say that there is a problem with the AC panel. Eventhough you have power in, there could still be one or more fuses for the AC, did you check the fuses first?

Re: Jeep liberty air conditioning problem

Thanks, I am going to see if I can find a wiring diagram for the panel and will check the fuse box for some other fuses.

Wondered if this can be caused by a pressure switch not allowing a circuit to be completed?

Appreciate the ideas as I am going to check all the things I am getting

Thanks

Re: Jeep liberty air conditioning problem

Control of the blend door should not have any involvement of a pressure switch, only the temperature regulation switch. The Liberty has a manual AC system i believe?
Did you check if the blend door can be moved by hand? When it is stuck, it could be that the actuator canīt move it.
