Kick down cable

The black plastic connector snapped on the end of the throttle kick down cable. Is there a way to fix this? The dealership said 3 hours and $95 in parts. Must do cheaper for an 04 Grand Cherokee

With the caution that I had an older jeep, and don't recall the cable size, could you get it working with one of those lock screw type bicycle cable ends?
Some even have small extensions on them.

Google bicycle cable ends if you don't have a good fully supplied bike shop in the area.

I've repaired other auto cables with those and had them last for years.

Re: Kick down cable

I just broke mine also grind off the tit that sticks out of the throttle arm there is a hole that goes through it then drill a hole in the black part on the cable one size bigger than the bolt size on the throttle arm use an elastic nut and do not tighten it up the hole way it will work like a charme

Re: Kick down cable

Broke down and had it fixed and turns out the tension on the cable broke it because the valve body was partially frozen in place. Had the Trans flushed and cleaned and new cable installed.
