leaking brake fluid???

yesterday when I was under the car I notice this. I think it may be leaking brake fluid... but its only from the rear driver side any suggestions or ideas on what it might be?

Man my wheels are real dirty but they will be cleaned real soon

Re: leaking brake fluid???

Check your master cylinder and see if the fluid is lower than usual. I can't really tell you what's wrong but maybe you can take it to a mechanic and let them check it out.

Re: leaking brake fluid???

if your master isnt low its a leaking diff seal. its common with the wranglers. easy to replace if you have a few good tools

Re: leaking brake fluid???

Looks like an axle seal to me. If it were brake fluid, one would hope that you'd see something on your dash warning you that here is a problem.

Re: leaking brake fluid???

Does it stink like no other Hector? If so then it is diff/axle fluid...diff oil is some of the worst smelling stuff ever...

Re: leaking brake fluid???

Also, if it is an axle seal you not find much looking at the differential case or seal. If it is axle lube, it is most likely coming out the end of the axle, right where you see it in the pics above.
