manifold leak?

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee special edition. 4.7l h/o. I recently had some exhaust work done but now I hear ticking noise from front of vehicle maybe manifold leak? It's my project and I want to learn to do as much as possible on my own but I have heard these are hard to fix. Any help? Ideas or tricks to tell if it is manifold leak or not? Any help is appreciated.
