Im new to the website i'm from Houston, tx having problems right now with my Jeep i so want to cry. But does anyone know anything about the Electronic Throttle Control? It's a 2005 grand cherokee 5.7 L it was working fine lastnight and when i tried to go somewhere this afternoon to didnt want to start i thought i left a light on but didnt anyways i noticed that my (ETC) light was flashing and the traction light was on too. i have no idea what to do can someone HELP
This could be MANY things, as some have mentioned I have seen a couple ETC cars go stupid and simply require a relearn with vehicle that have had battery issues (2 in the last couple weeks, neither I worked on but coworkers). Especially if your on the original battery its got to be on its last leg!
I have also seen dead PCM's cause throttle control issues, faulty throttle bodys, accelerator pedal position sensor issues... seeing codes stored or active its hard to even narrow down the concern let alone diagnose over the internet. Ultimately what I am getting at is there is not a super common failure that we can point you at blindly with your concern.
