Mysterious noise

There is a noise that is driving me crazy. It occurs when the right rear hits any medium size bumps or potholes. It sounds like one of the interior panels is loose or the liftgate is loose. Initially it sounded like something was rattling around in the storage area under the floor of the cargo cover. I took everything out including the cargo cover. I checked the spare tire to see if it was loose ( it's not). I suppose it could be a noise from the suspension, but if I jump up and down on the back it isn't reproducible. Loose interior panel?, bad shock?, I don't have an idea of where to troubleshoot from here. Help...

Re: Mysterious noise

sway bar endlinks are notorious for rattle noises, loose shock mounts also... disconnect the rear sway bar and see if the sound goes away, if it does it needs endlinks, if it continues take your shocks out and drive carefully to the nearest bump and try it.

Thanks. So is it possible an end link is loose, or do they break? I put an addco rear sway on the back a few weeks ago, but didn't notice anything then. So might I have damaged the endlink getting it off the old bar? Does the endlink joint have a way to tighten it? I tightened everything with the torque wrench to spec.
