OBD code P2667 Input Speed Sensor code

I have 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7 L 4x4 65th Anniversary Edition.
My check engine light came on.

I've gotten a OBD code P2667 Input Speed Sensor code...
The check engine light went back off...could this be a shorted out wire?

Can I repair this myself...not overly mechanical...how much might that repair cost...dealer want $84 dollars just to diagnose the code...AutoZone did the diag with ther tool for free...

Re: OBD code P2667 Input Speed Sensor code

If its a fault in the speed sensor itself, the sensor is located inside the transmission above the valve body on the "lead frame" which is basically just a large external circuit board for the NAG1 transmission. Its not overly difficult (messy YES) but its also something that could disable your vehicle and leave you needing to get it towed to a shop to repair if you get half way through and decide you cannot get it together.
