oil blow back

I sent my jeep in to a local shop to have the check engine light checked out. He said i was low on anti freeze and that he noticed oil on the backside of my air filter? he thinks there may be an engine issue but he wants it back to look at it further. Any one ever have anything like this???

Re: oil blow back

Was the oil really in the filter, or was there oil in the resonator box?
Did he tell you which fault code(s) are/where set?

Re: oil blow back

that is typical with the hemi. I would clean the intake manifold, filter, filter box etc. and then install a catch can. there are many threads here about catch cans. Youll just have to find the best can for you.

X3....and check your Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve for operability and crud buildup. Normal replacement interval by maintenance schedule is 60K miles.

When it's working correctly, the crankcase is under vacuum and there should be little or no blowback.
