P1732 p0733 p734 tranny issues won't move

I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 LTD. Im getting these codes and it wont go anywhere. The tranny fluid is burnt and brown. I just swapped the motor and put in new fluid and now 50 miles later its burnt and brown. I put atf4 in it. I also replaced tcm as it had a p1698 code since then it presented the other codes but the p1698 has not come back. Im tired of sunking money into it. Can anyone of you guys help?

Re: P1732 p0733 p734 tranny issues won't move

Welcome to the garage. Was the trans fluid normal in colour when you changed it? You didn´t feel any slipping during driving? The P1732 code means a problem in the pressure switch circuit of the UD clutch. The P0733 and P0734 mean that the transmission was slipping in 3rd and 4th gear. I will have to go deeper into this to help you better, but will have to take the bus home now. Will come back later to you.

Yes the fluid was brand new. Yes there was slipping before and now after the tcm change. But now after the tcm change the codes popped up and mow ot wont move at all. The tcm miscommunication codes has not came back just the others.

Re: P1732 p0733 p734 tranny issues won't move

So if there is a clutch slipping, then it normally can have two reasons: or the line pressure is too low, or a clutch is worn to limits and will not hold anymore.
A low line pressure can cause slipping in all gears, depending on how low the pressure is and the torque coming from the engine. The pressure switches in the TRS solenoid block are tested each time at a certain rpm. The TCM will momentarily activate each shift solenoid and watches the respective pressure switch to change its state. If that doesnt happen for a few times, the pressure switch code is set. It can mean a bad pressure switch or circuit, or that there simply is not (enough) pressure to switch state. Internal leakage could be the culprit. Internal leakage can bleed down the line pressure and cause slipping. Strangely enough you have the UD clutch pressure switch fault, but no code for slipping in 1st nor 2 nd gear, while when im not wrong the UD clutch is used in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear.
You didnt drive that far yet, but if a clutch was slipping all the time, it can mean that the clutch is now worn to limits. That the jeep is not moving at all now could point towards a worn UD clutch.
You could remove the valve body from the transmission and do an air test of each clutch, to find out if there is internal leakage from a piston, but most probably the transmission will need a rebuild or you swap a used unit in. If you have time, you could do the rebuild yourself.

Attached the gearshift cable adjustment procedure. If the cable end is off too much, then it can be that you have to remove the transmission shift lever and re-install it in a more appropriate position.

Re: P1732 p0733 p734 tranny issues won't move

When you are going to refill the radiator with coolant, you will need to remove the bleed plug where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. Just fill until the coolant starts overflowing from that hole and then put the plug back in place and continue filling the radiator until its full. Now it will need a few heat up/cool down cycles to get rid of any trapped air inside the cooling system. You will see that the level in the overflow reservoir will drop after some heat-up/cool down cycles, so you will need to keep an eye on it and refill when necessary.
Also be sure that when installing the new thermostat, that the small bleed valve is on top, so that any trapped air can escape via that small valve.
