PCM to OBD II & Diablo Sport Problem

I just installed a new RIPP
MODS Supercharger in my 2006 Jeep Wrangler 4.6L w/Stage II Stroker Kit. Everything went smooth up until the Diablo Sport Intune programmer. I'm not able to make it connect to my PCM! I went to a speed shop here in Vegas to have it programmed and setup on their Dynotuner. He wasn't able to get the PCM to communicate with the Diablo Tuner either. He speculated that there was something wrong with the PCM or the wiring harness. The wiring harness, new from the dealer, which I installed. Anyway, he suggested I take it to the dealership to have it checked out. So the was able to program the module with the stock program. No problem. Took it back to the Dyno shop and still no luck, not only with using my Diablo tuner, but one of his own, and even a Trinity tuner. But what is weird is how am I able to clear trouble codes with my Innova Scan Tool, but not with the tuner? I was even able to connect to another '06's PCM with it. I'm thinking my PCM 's write circuit or something along that line is bad. I checked my grounds to the block, which someone suggested, and all is tight, cleaned with sandpaper, and good. I've checked my connections to the PCM and all is good. No bent pins. I'm having a new PCM installed tomorrow but I don't think it's going to fix my problem.

Re: PCM to OBD II & Diablo Sport Problem

UPDATE: So after deciding to buy a new PCM after all, ($900 with programming at the dealership), I still wasn't able to resolve my problem with the Diablo Sport connecting to the PCM! There are no more decent experienced mechanics left. The dealerships are total "HACKS"!!!! Nothing but a bunch of adolescent children with book smarts, and a meaningless ASE certification. The only thing they're good for are oil changes.

Re: PCM to OBD II & Diablo Sport Problem

If you go to Diablo's site they have factory techs that will help you troubleshoot on their forum.

PCM to OBD II & Diablo Sport Problem

Thanks. Yes, I've been in numerous contacts with Diablo (Mike Litsch) and the guys at RIPP Mods through this whole dilemma. We'll see today at my appointment. Diablo support thinks, and is confident, that with the new PCM and the use of the Speed Shop's Diablo "Trinity" Tuner, (which we've already tried), are sure it should work this time. We'll see.

Re: PCM to OBD II & Diablo Sport Problem

Turns out the Diablo Sport wasn't compatible after all. Had to shell out another $600 for the Diablo Trinity. AND the software had to be uploaded with an older version in the unit to be able to work with the '06. All in all after the Dynotune (270bhp) it runs like a charm. I'm just glad it all over.

Wrong thread.... But I would check the signal wire at the starter to see if it's dirty or just loose

Re: PCM to OBD II & Diablo Sport Problem

If you have a choice in either the Diablo inTune or the Trinity, get the Trinity. It costs about $250 more but at least it works and has more features.
