Question Play axleshaft bearings in rear differential

Hello everybody,

I have a technical question, if the play in my rear diff is ok or if I should change the axleshaft bearings.

I have some play in the axleshaft bearings of my rear diff. Basically I can rattle the inner part of the axleshaft (on the part between C/V joint and diff) about 1-2mm up and down. Both sides are the same. I did a video

It is a 2012 JGC V6 with QT2 and I suppose a 195mm diff. Play is only present when the Transfercase is in NEUTRAL, probably because of the tensions in the drivetrain.

Ah, forgot to mention, service manager says its 'normal'.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks a lot for the info. The dealer and I did that with one as I need to put the transferase into neutral and it was kind of the same but not as much play as mine. It had 5 miles on it compared to mine 6k though.

I will keep an I on it but your comments gave me really some confidence in it. Therefore thanks!
