random clicking sound from tire

Hello all, 05 grand cherokee

at slow speeds I occasionally hear a clicking sound coming from the right side. I think from the right rear tire. it sounds like a rock in the tread but thats the first thing i checked. It only happens on occasion and when it does, its always at slow speeds with the wheel strait, usually when coming to a stop and the slower i go the slower the clicking?? wheels and caps are tight and I cant see anything visual.. It drives me nuckinfuts! any ideas?? thanks!

Re: random clicking sound from tire

A decently common problem/issue on the WK is the lining on the ebrake comes off... people have complained about intermittant ticking and clicking and could cause grinding and grabbing concerns too. A way to check is pull the wheel off, followed by the caliper, remove the rotor retainer o-ring (thats all its there for, it may not be there any more in your 05 by now) and pop the rotor off. from there you can see if the friction material is still in good shape and properly attached to the shoe frame.
