seat conversion

so i have a '04 grand cherokee special edition, 4x4.

the passenger front seat motor is broken. (it goes forward and backward, just not up and down). from my research, it looks like 2 motors are bad, but according to mopar, you need to replace the entire power seat track. the cheapest i've seen this is around $400, and on ebay for around $200. my question is: CAN I CONVERT THIS TO A MANUAL SEAT?? Also, because i have heated seats, can i just keep the wiring harness and stick it under the seat so i still have heated seats -- but move it manually to save a bunch of money??

Re: seat conversion

Are you sure that the motor is bad? Is there not any noise or little movement when trying to move the seat up/down? Many times the mechanism is just dry and prevent the movement. Some lubrication of the moving points can do wonders.
