I'm new at this and don't know much so I apologize in advance for not using the correct terminology. That being said I own a 2002 Jeep Liberty that seems to have developed a mind of its own. I started it the other day and I heard a noise that sounded similar to when you stick something into a running box fan, and the Jeep began shaking. After looking under the hood I discovered the engine was literally shaking side to side. My brother said it was either a busted motor mount or a clogged catalytic converter, and to put the hazards on and limp it home. It turned out I didn't have much of a choice because it wouldn't accelerate past 30mph. The gas pedal was clear to the floor and there was no pressure or resistance. Eventually I crossed a set of RR tracks and it went haywire. The Jeep decelerated down to 23 mph started bucking like a mechanical bull, and making a repetitive whirring noise. At this time I discovered that both the brakes and power steering were out as well. The brake pedal was stuck in the up position and wouldn't go down. I called my bro again and he said if I could get it home to do so. He told me to wait just til I was about 200 ft from my driveway and put it on neutral. The 1st time I did this the Jeep literally red lined and accelerated like it was a sports car. I put it back in drive and then put it in neutral again, which this time brought it to a stalled stop halfway in the road and the driveway. I turned the key and it once again red lined and we were doing 45 mph in my thankfully long driveway. I once again put it in neutral and it came to a rolling stop. When I attempted to turn the key again it red lined and the speedometer jumped in park??? If any one had any ideas or suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.
