Service 4x4 indicator 06 wk

When I lift my 4wheel low switch the service light comes on and will not engage. What should I expect before taking her to the shop?

There is a flash update from some time ago, which caused the 4Lo to quit working. Now there seems to be another flash available, which should solve that problem. It is ofcourse still possible that you have a real problem.

Did you go to the dealership for n23 recall? is the name i think.. it fixed an issue were the transmission would shift into neutral on rare occasions.. the byproduct of that recall was no use of 4x4 low.

Yes, the N23 recall is a reprogramming of the final drive unit of the jeep (the flash update). The T-case could go into Neutral due to some programming faults and the recall would fix that. The consequence of the recall was that 4-Lo did not work anymore.

4 loo doesn't engage but it doesn't shift onto neutral.

So they probably have to load the new software to make it work again.

To delete the message "Service 4WD System", I remove the fuse 25, start the engine, shift transmition on drive and reverse, turn off the engine and return the fuse 25. After a week the problem returns. After this procedure transmition 4x4lo works, there is no mechanic problem.

Re: Service 4x4 indicator 06 wk

The most recent recall update was July 2014. Take it to your Jeep dealer who should reflash it freeof charge. Had mine done in October, now works fine at last. Looks like the problem is finally solved.
The remove the fuse trick will only work temporarily.
regards, Lionel.
