Shocks 2000 wj

It's time to replace shocks (front and back). Need suggestions on what brand/type. Looking for ride comfort, as i don't do any off road driving or towing. Just an everyday cruiser. ???

Re: Shocks 2000 wj

Most of the guys overhere prefer Bilsteins. I just put KYB gas-a-just on my WJ and like them a lot.

Re: Shocks 2000 wj

Thanks brother. I was looking at those on rockauto, and are definitely in my price range. Does their steering damper perform well, too?

Re: Shocks 2000 wj

I thought a bought Monroe for the steering damper, but its a KYB as well. Works very good, nothing i can complain about. I also bought them from Rockauto.

Sweet! I'm gonna give them a try. I've heard mostly bad about Monroe, and that's all the box stores around me carry. That, or Rancho, but i don't want to spend that much just for regular driving.

Re: Shocks 2000 wj

I had Monroe Reflex on mine before. I did like the ride, but only after 50K km they where completely shot. One of the front shocks lost all pressure and the ride comfort became bad.
The KYB gas-a-just are mono tube shocks. They give a much better control then the Monroes and the ride comfort is great.

Re: Shocks 2000 wj

Well, i'm very happy with the kyb shocks. Made a world of difference, and i gained almost 2 inches of ride height in the front. I knew my old ones were blown out, but damn! Also went with the kyb steering damper, which tightened up the steering a lot. Rides like a dream, now. Thanks for the recommendation.
