Red face Stereo trouble, 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

I have a cassette deck in my JGC, and the cassette adapter is stuck. I have no idea how to get it out. I just bought this adapter yesterday and it was acting up, so I was taking it to return it.. and won't come out. It started to eject and then it just stopped and the radio turned on. (And if you live in NY, you know damn well there is NOTHING decent playing on the radio here anymore since 101.9 is gone and 104.3 isn't what it used to be )

Please help me!!

Thanks
Ash~

Re: Stereo trouble, 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

Anyone? I tried using a paperclip to yank it out and a butterknife to jimmie it out and nothing. The radio is playing while this stupid thing is jammed in there, but I would really like to listen to my own music.

Re: Stereo trouble, 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

id say pull the radio out and take it apart then manually release the tape adapter. then put it all back together and put it back in your jeep and if you didnt break anything in the process when you put the adapter back in it should start to work.

This chick knows nothing about pulling the radio out. Looks like the stock radio that came with the jeep. http://instagr.am/p/JsboBXJUhY/

Re: Stereo trouble, 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

its pretty easy to do if you are mechanically inclined , if you are not hopefully there is another member in the area that is more mechanically inclined that could meet up with you and try to help you take it out.

the only other suggestion i might be able to offer, would be to remove the negative cable from the battery and let it sit for a few minutes with no power, hopefully once you re attach the negative cable, it will allow you to press the eject button afterwards.

I can fix the computer, but I can't fix the car I can put on my wiper blades, add washer fluid, antifreeze and pump my own gas... but that's about it in that department.

Re: Stereo trouble, 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

An attorney I work with gave me the # to his audio guy.. the guy quoted me $200 for a new stereo plus installation... that's not really what I was looking for.. I just need to get this thing out and hopefully get something in there that works so I can listen to my own music and not the poppy crap they play on the radio.

Thanks for the bump Antonio
