Smile thank you and help with seat belt

It's almost year end and I'm sure everybody is tired and need a break. Well if you going away in your Jeep, at least we know you will get to your destination safely. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

Before I say good buy I'd like to know if someone can assist me. I have the 5.7 Cherokee and since I've put the back seats flat, I cant get it back up again. Its as if the safety belt locked and I'm not sure what to do next. I would appreciate any advice please. We stay quite far from any dealers and obviously need the seating space again.

Kindest Regards
Steve

Re: thank you

Hi Steve , and Merry Christmas to you as well !

We had the same issue with our Commander . We had to take ours to the Dealer to get it unlocked . I believe there may be a TSB out on the problem .

The only way ( that i know of) to loosen it is to remove the back of the seat . You maybe able to jiggle the belt around and move the seat up and down to free it .

even after we had ours replaced with the next generation of belts the service dept still told us to latch the belt , we pull the extra out and wrap it around the head rest .

I am going to move this to the troubleshooting section to try to get more views
