One "fix" I have read is the insertion of a restrictor plate for the EGR valve return to the intake manifold. Seems like it's a blind flange with a small drill hole in the center. Sells for ~$20.

There are claims on both sides as to its effectiveness. If it worked as advertised, Chrysler probably would have changed the EGR valve design years ago, as a cheap fix.

I generally go for the simple things first, but not in this case.

If I were to wrap the fuel rails, would it be with a high temp tape, like motorcycle exhaust pipes or a sound-deadening product? Another thought is the tape used as anti-sweat on the metallic portion of the air condtioning tubing. One difference: it doesn't get the high temperature from extremely close proximity to the hot engine components.

Would be concerned about using a material with a lower ignition temperature.

The sound reminds me of a 1970's big V-8 with a stuck hydraulic lifter.

Re: Ticking noise

I'll pursue a material. Will start with the wrap used for old bike exhausts. If I find something useful, I'll post. [Will need wife to take pictures though.]

BTW: Scottina06. Really like how your GC looks.

Re: Ticking noise

Hi All

Mine is doing the same at startup in the morning then quiets down when on normal temp. But for some reason on normal temp, giving it some gas the ticking noise rise as the revs climb. Any ideas on what that could be or on how to solve it . I dont like the ticking noise when i want to hear the roar of the Hemi
