just to clarify here's the breakdown
2006 GC WK 3.7L V6 4x4 80K miles
my ride was in limp mode it seemed to be the common bezel problem that everyone has been experiencing so i replaced the whole shifter assembly.
but did not flash anything
It worked perfect for 2 months no problems, this past month it started going back into limp mode and now the transmission is acting like it what was before
After the ride is in operational temperature it goes into limp mode where it gets stuck on 2nd or 3rd gear depending on what my speed was. If I turn the engine on and off it will go away for a couple of seconds coming back again. When it get's real hot pop the hood let it cool for 10 minutes and it will act as if nothing has happened but the OBDII codes are still present.
P0700 - trans control system malfunction
P0710 - trans fluid temp sensor circuit malfunction
P0762 - shift solenoid c stuck on
p0763 - shift solenoid C electrical
P0764 - Shift solenoid C intermittent
I've gotten other codes such as crankshaft position sensor
1) PCM is bad and has to be replaced since that controls the 3-4 shift solenoid and transmission temp sensors output which are the codes I'm getting. That's if I'm correct about the 3-4 being C ???
2) change out transmission filters and fill back up (doubt it though) maybe just maybe
3) Part # 52108308AB - It's the 13 pin connector on the valve body that contains the circuitry for the temp sensor and speed sensors (common thing that the SRT guys are changing out and since it's the same trans) ... connection there
4) Change out solenoid C on the valve body
if the vehicle is cold it runs smooth until it comes to operating temp and goes into limp mode also displaying the "tranmission over temp" crap before crank
I changed out the starter and still there
the tcm is part of pcm and 13-pin lead connector is through the can-bus that also is connected to pcm so therefore my #1 theory seems the most justified we'll see what happens
monday comes new pcm and we'll see how that goes
The stealership has all the parts that are necessary for the above described repairs just not sure if I should go that route yet. I want to wait for the PCM first and then see what happenes
sorry for the long rant this problem has been going on for months now and it's killing me cuz i can't drive anywhere
any comments appreciated ... i'm off to off myself
