Re: tranny problem

This also happens on the WJ 4.7 with 5-45RFE. The only thing i can come up with to keep it in is to put a safety wire or alike to keep it down.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have heard that the problem exist on a lot of jeeps. One comment was that a plastic breather tube on top of the transmission may need to be cleaned out. Lol. Don't know where to find it. ((

Re: tranny problem

On mine 5-45RFE there is a short breather tube with vent cap on top of the transmission. I think it can't be reached with the transmission in place. But maybe on the WK that they placed a longer tube, don't know. But if the dipstick pops out with the engine off, then the problem is not the breather, but the dipstick itself.

Oh!! Thanks for that tip! I'll check out with the engine off. I believe that it slowly works itself out. It just seem that there is an imaginary spring on the bottom of the dip stick that pushes it out!! LOL!!!

Well...what I did was stuck rubber plug in the dip stick tube to block any debris from getting into the transmission. I placed the dip stick alongside the drivers side of the engine for retrieval when necessary.
